Many ‘auditioning’ for post in Marcos Jr. Cabinet, says Imee

Senator Imee Marcos on Thursday said a number have expressed interest to be part of the Cabinet of his brother, presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., in case he wins the 2022 elections.

At the Pandesal Forum, Imee said that some of them did not want to serve the government but are now volunteering to help Marcos.

“Sasabihin ko ang totoo, ang dami-dami yatang nag-au-audition na maging Cabinet (I will tell the truth, there are so many auditioning to be a Cabinet member of Marcos Jr.),” she said.

“Yan ang aking nakikita madami talaga. Dati, ayaw talaga sa gobyerno. Ngayon, magvo-voluunteer. Yun ang nakakatuwa (That's what I see, there are really many. Previously, they did not want to work in the government. Now, they are volunteering. I am delighted), she added.

Imee advised his brother to choose Cabinet members based on excellence and honesty as she discouraged appointing people based on friendship.

“Pero ang gusto ko sana huwag na tayong mauwi sa kung sino-sinong kaibigan, ka-barilan, ka-chikahan. Sana for a change ang pipiliin kagalingan na lang, katapatan, sana ganun na lang,” she said.
