Comelec not keen on holding one-on-one debates
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is not keen on holding one-on-one debate as it would not be fair to the candidates.
During Monday's Laging Handa public briefing, Commelec Commissioner George Garcia said media networks could conduct one-on-one debates but definitely not the Comelec.

Garcia stressed that the poll body must remain "impartial and neutral."
Kami po ay Comelec, we should be impartial and neutral lalo na po sa halalan,” he said.

He said all candidates deserve a chance to explain their sides on issues. —KBK, GMA News
