Partido Federal faction endorses Isko's presidential bid

A faction of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the party chaired by former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr., on Wednesday endorsed Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno as its presidential candidate.

Wing leader Abubakar Mangelen read the resolution during Moreno’s grand rally at Iligan City Public Plaza.

“Whereas, he is the candidate whose vision of governance fit to the core values and key thrust agenda of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas on anti-corruption, anti-illegal drugs, anti-criminality, and anti-poverty,” the resolution read.

“After thorough deliberation, the National Executive Committee endorses the Candidacy of Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso for President of the Republic of the Philippines,” it added.

Marcos joined the PFP and assumed position as its chairman in October 2021. He was endorsed by the party in September of the same year.

Moreno has recently been calling for the former senator to pay his family’s P203 billion estate tax, which he has vowed to use the tax for aid.

Malacañang has also said the Bureau of Internal Revenue should go after all people who are not paying their taxes amid the issue of the Marcoses’ estate tax debt.

Marcos, meanwhile, has said there is "a lot of fake news involved" in the issues regarding his family's ill-gotten wealth.—LDF, GMA News
