Ka Leody’s wife greets him: Buhay ka pa?

Presidential candidate Leody De Guzman came home to a warm welcome and a hot meal on Wednesday after surviving a shooting during a campaign stop in Bukidnon a day earlier.

On Twitter, the labor leader posted a video of him walking into his home to say hello to his wife Marieza Tolentino, who was in the kitchen.

"Nakauwi na at nakapiling na muli ang aking Darleng," he said in the tweet.

In the video, he gives Tolentino a peck on the cheek as she asks him, smiling, "Ano, buhay ka pa?"

"Oo naman," he replies. "May anting-anting."

On Tuesday, De Guzman and his team were shot at in the town of Quezon in Bukidnon Province, where they had been meeting with the Manobo-Pulanguihon indigenous community over alleged land grabbing that forced them to live on the streets.

Several people were injured, with De Guzman saying that the first person shot had only been a foot away from him.

The Commission on Elections said it will investigate the incident, while the Philippine National Police said that it is still "premature" to say that the shooting is election-related. — BM, GMA News
