No tsunami threat after magnitude 6.8 quake hits Nicaragua – PHIVOLCS


The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said there was no tsunami threat to the country after a magnitude 6.8 earthquake jolted Nicaragua on Thursday afternoon.

"No destructive tsunami threat exists based on available data. This is for information purposes only and there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from this earthquake," the agency said in a statement.
