Comelec OKs reassignment of PNP officials ahead of Eleksyon 2022


The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reassigned some officials to head its “important” units effective last Saturday, April 23, due to the impending retirement of a senior official, the police organization said Monday.

In a statement, PNP chief General Dionardo Carlos said the movement of officials was approved by the Commission on Elections, as part of the procedure in light of the May 9 polls.

“Be it known that this movement of unit heads has been approved by the Comelec essential to the procedure during this election period,” he said.

“I trust that our competent police generals will be able to accomplish their tasks according to their specific functions,” he added.

Former PNP Health Service director, Police Brigadier Antonino Raymundo Cirujales has been reassigned to the Office of the Chief PNP on Non-Duty Status ahead of his retirement on May 10, 2022, the PNP said.

Cirujales was replaced by Police Colonel Jezebel Dominguez Medina as the new Health Service Director in an acting capacity, it added.

Former Deputy Director for Logistics (DL) Police Brigadier General Lorenzo Barron Detran Jr. has been reassigned to lead the Logistics Support Service (LSS) unit, the PNP said.

He is replaced by former PNP Bicol Director Police Brigadier General Jonnel Cabrillos Estomo who now serves as the new Deputy for DL.

The new PNP Bicol Director is Police Brigadier General Mario Albitos Reyes, who is the former head of LSS unit, according to the PNP. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
