Over 37K public schools ready for Eleksyon 2022 —DepEd

More than 37,000 public schools will be used as polling precincts in the May 9 elections, a Department of Education (DepEd) official said Wednesday.

Interviewed on GMA News’ Unang Balita, DepEd Public Affairs Office director Marcelo Bragado said teachers are also ready to serve as board of election inspectors after undergoing training.

“Sa katunayan po, ang gagamitin pong mga paaralan sa eleksyon ay humigit 37,000 na public schools. Ang lahat ng ito ay naka-ready na,” he said.

(In fact, over 37,000 public schools will be used in the elections. All of them are ready.)

Bragado said these schools will hold testing and sealing of vote counting machines (VCMs) on May 2 to 7, 2022.

According to him, health protocols against the spread of COVID-19 will be observed in the schools during the conduct of the elections.

Classes in all levels in public schools are suspended from May 2 to 13, 2022, due to activities related to the May 9 polls, the DepEd earlier announced. —KBK, GMA News
