Cardinal Advincula named cardinal-priest of church in Rome

Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula has been appointed cardinal-priest of the Parrocchia San Vigilio in Rome, Italy.

The Parrocchia San Vigilio announced on Facebook post that Advincula would formally assume the post on Saturday, April 30.

“We are all invited to participate in the Eucharistic celebration at 7 p.m. for this very important moment in the history of the parish and of our community,” the parish said in Italian.

Last April 21, Advincula met Pope Francis and Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, who is the current Dean of the College of Cardinals.

In the latest list of 117 Cardinal Electors, it currently includes Advincula, along with Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle. —Richa Noriega/NB, GMA News
