Marcos Jr. calls for vigilance on Eleksyon 2022: Walang tulugan
TAGUM City, Davao del Norte —Presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. upped his call on Thursday for vigilance in guarding the votes, saying undesirable events could happen if people are not watching.
At the Uniteam's Mindanao miting de avance, Marcos said, "Panalo na," responding to the crowd chanting the same words.
"Basta's bantayan nyo yung boto sa Lunes. Walang tulugan," he said.
"Alam naman natin pag tayo'y natulog, maraming nangyayari na di kanais-nais," he added.
The son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos said the May 9, 2022 elections will be one of the most significant events in the lives of the Filipinos when they elect new leaders to lead the country.
Marcos said he started his presidential bid with unity in mind and with a plan to gather a team that will campaign with a common platform. He said a vote of Uniteam is a vote for the future.
The Marcos-Duterte tandem was in Tagum City for the miting de avance, days before Eleksyon 2022. Before Davao del Norte, the slate had its first miting de avance in Guimbal, Iloilo.
The bad weather, which left the ground muddy, did not stop the crowd from expressing support to the former senator and the presidential daughter, who has since dominated poll surveys.
In a separate ambush interview, Duterte said topping vice presidential surveys does not mean winning the election.
The Davao City mayor maintained her lead in the survey conducted by independent group OCTA Research, with a rating of 56%.
Still, Duterte expressed gratitude to her supporters for their confidence on her candidacy.
