Philippines logs 150 new COVID-19 cases; no new deaths in two days


The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday logged 150 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the nationwide COVID-19 tally to 3,686,693.

According to the DOH’s latest data, the country’s active case count stood at 4,517. The new active tally was the lowest reported this year.

The regions with the most new cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region with 968, followed by Region 4-A with 303, and Region 3 with 215.

No new COVID-19 deaths were also recorded in the past two days, according to the DOH.

A total of 3,621,737 patients recovered from the viral disease.

The country’s bed occupancy rate stood at 16.5% as of Thursday, May 5.

The number of beds occupied were 5,192, while at least 26,202 were vacant.

The DOH said 17,961 individuals were tested, while 314 testing laboratories submitted data as of Thursday.—LDF, GMA News
