Pangilinan: Don't vote for a spoiled brat
Senator and vice presidential candidate Francis Pangilinan on Saturday praised the qualities of his running mate, Vice President Leni Robredo, as he asked the public not to vote for a "spoiled brat" in the May 9 polls.
Speaking before a huge crowd in Makati City, Pangilinan said that Robredo is a hardworking and a courageous person.
He then compared Robredo to someone who is always absent, grew up spoiled, and lies with impunity.
"Sa Mayo 9, piliin natin ang nanay na masipag, masinop at tahimik na itinataguyod ang tahanan ng ating lahi. Nagtatrabaho hanggang 18 hours a day para sa atin. Huwag nating piliin ang parating absent, ang laki sa layaw, ang nagwaldas sa pera ng bayan, ang walang pakundangan sa pagsisinungaling," Pangilinan said during the miting de avance.
"Huwag nating piliin ang magpa-Pharmally sa mga bilyong perang gobyerno, ng pera na galing sa buwis natin. Piliin natin ang pareho natin, pareho ni Leni. Malakas, masipag, matapang, masinop, mapagmahal, mabuting Pilipino," he added.
Pangilinan did not drop names, but among presidential candidates, it was survey frontrunner Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. who has faced criticism about the legacy of his father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., and his non-appearance in debates sponsored by the Commission on Elections.
Robredo, meanwhile, has accused Marcos Jr. of spreading disinformation against her.
"We will not forget the painful lessons of history, the abuses under Martial Law, fellow Filipinos who disappeared and were killed, and we will vigorously oppose anyone who dares to rewrite our history," Pangilinan said.
Robredo, Pangilinan, and their senatorial candidates wrapped up their 90-day campaign on Saturday. —VBL, GMA News
