Bilibid inmates done casting votes for Eleksyon 2022 by noon
Persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) registered to vote have successfully cast their ballots Monday for the 2022 national and local elections.
Super Radyo dzBB's Jhomer Apresto reported that according to acting NBP-maximum security compound chief Jayferson Bon-As, around 500 PDLs inside the national penitentiary finished voting at 12 p.m., at least two hours ahead of the expected 2 p.m. schedule.
Bon-As added at least 2,000 inmates were initially expected to vote but some of them have already been released while others were transferred to other jail facilities before the holding of the elections.
The visitation centers were converted into polling precincts where tight health security protocols, including temperature checks were observed to ensure the safety of all PDLs and staff against COVID-19.—Sundy Locus/AOL, GMA News
