Robredo camp mapping best way forward after trailing big in Eleksyon 2022 unofficial count

The camp of Vice President and presidential candidate Leni Robredo on Tuesday said it is mapping the best way forward a day after the May 9 polls.

Ibarra Gutierrez, spokesperson for Robredo, issued the statement with the Vice President trailing Marcos by a mile, 14 million as against 30 million, in the partial and unofficial quick count of election returns.

"Marami sa atin malungkot. Iba galit. Ilan nawawalan ng pag-asa. Ramdam din namin yan. Ramdam namin kayo. We are trying to find the best path forward," he said.

(Many of us are sad. Some are angry. Some are hopeless. We feel the same and we feel for you.)

"Pakiusap lang: konting pasensiya (We ask for your patience). We will release updates within the day. Kapit lang. Nandito kami (Hang on tight. We are here)," he added.

Robredo earlier said no effort was wasted on her 2022 presidential campaign that largely depended on the effort of her volunteer supporters who shelled out their own resources.

"Walang nasayang. Hindi tayo nabigo. Pinakamahalaga: Hindi pa tayo tapos. Nagsisimula pa lang tayo. May landas na nagbukas, at hindi ito sasara kasabay ng mga presinto," she said.

(Nothing was wasted. We did not fail. Most importantly: We are not yet done. We are just getting started. A path has emerged, and this won't close as precincts closed.)

"May kilusang isinilang, at hindi ito papanaw sa pagtatapos ng bilangan. Ang namulat, hindi na muling mapipikit. Hindi natin kailanman hahayaang makatulog muli ang pag-asang nagising," she added.

(We gave birth to a movement, and this won't fade once the counting of votes is over. Eyes were opened and they won't be shut again. We will never let hope go to sleep again.)—AOL, GMA News
