VP bet Willie Ong thanks supporters after elections

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno's running mate Willie Ong on Monday night took to Facebook to express his gratitude to those who voted for him and supported his vice presidential bid.

“Salamat salamat salamat po sa lahat ng bumoto sa akin. I love you everyone,” Ong said in a Facebook post an hour after the voting period ended.

Partial and unofficial results as of 11:47 a.m. Tuesday based on the Comelec Transparency Server show that the Aksyon Demokratiko vice-presidential bet is ranked fourth among candidates with 1,830,259 votes.

Davao Mayor Sara Duterte, meanwhile, is leading the field with 31,268,766 votes, followed by Senator Kiko Pangilinan with 9,166,556, and Senate President Vicente Sotto III with 8,142,666.

Ong said the public will someday experience the service he can give.

“Sa hindi bumoto, okay lang po. Balewala lang  sa akin. Matiisin naman ako. One day, malalaman niyo din ang tunay na nagmamahal at maglilingkod  sa inyo. I will just wait for that day,” Ong said.

[To those who did not vote for me, it’s okay. I am patient. One day, you will know those who will sincerely love you and serve you. I will just wait for that day.]

“Sa ngayon, pantay-pantay po ang serbisyo namin sa bawat Pilipino. Mag-iikot na kami ni Doc Liza bukas. Ganyan dapat po ang lider. Patas sa lahat,” he added.

[For now, we give service equally to each Filipino. I and Dod Liza will go around tomorrow. That is a mark of a true leader, equal to everybody.] — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA News
