6 people dead in 27 incidents of election-related violence —PNP
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday reported that six people were killed in 27 incidents of violence related to Eleksyon 2022.
"Nakapagtala po tayo ng mga nire-relate natin sa eleksyon na more or less 27 incidents at 'yan nga ay meron tayong anim na naitalang insidente diyan," Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, spokesperson of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said in a Super Radyo dzBB interview.

She said that 16 out of the 27 were validated election-related incidents.
The numbers are lower than the 166 election-related incidents in 2010, and 133 during the 2016 national and local elections.
"Napakaganda ng ginawa nating paglatag ng seguridad (The PNP laid out the security well). As early as last year we already identified the risk factors that influenced the conduct of the elections," Fajardo said, crediting PNP's Oplan Katok and Bilang Boga or campaign against loose firearms.
As regards the gun ban, the PNP recorded a total of 3,191 arrested persons, and confiscated 2,271 assorted firearms, Fajardo reported.
In a media briefing earlier in the day, the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management reported that of the casualties, one died in the Cordillera region, while two died in Region 9.
The PNP further reported 52 incidents of shooting, gun ban violation, harrassment, vote buying, and mauling on May 9.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), meanwhile, reported additional four incidents of election-related violence from the previous 15.
Following the election day, AFP spokesperson Colonel Ramon Zagala said the security situation was "stable."—AOL, GMA News
