NBOC canvasses over 80 COCs from provinces, cities, overseas voting on Wednesday


The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), has canvassed more than 80 certificates of canvass (COCs) from several provinces, cities, and overseas voting as of Wednesday night.

As of this posting, the COCs from San Juan, Batanes, Las Piñas, Catanduanes, Romblon, Zambales, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Sur, Camiguin, Kalinga, Siquijor, Biliran, Malabon, Pasig, Marinduque, Valenzuela, Tarlac, Guimaras, Marikina, Dinagat Islands, Benguet, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Baguio City, Ifugao, La Union, Occidental Mindoro, Aurora, Parañaque, Iligan City, Navotas, Aklan, Lanao del Norte, Sorsogon, Sarangani, Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, Rizal, Southern Leyte, Abra, Pasay City, Bulacan, Antique, Albay, Camarines Norte, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Masbate, Zamboanga Sibugay, Apayao, Negros Orriental, Davao Oriebtal, Mountain Porvince, Quirino, Davao de Oro, Pampanga, Batangas, Eastern Samar, Agusan del Norte, Capiz, Sultan Kudarat, Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, Bacolod City, Cebu, Negros Occidental, Misamis Occidental have already been canvassed.

For the overseas voting, those from Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Lebanon, Oman, Brunei, Agana, Thailand, Athens, Taiwan, Bahrain, United Kingdom, Japan, and Spain have also been canvassed.

The results of the canvassed votes have yet to be released.

Actor Robin Padilla is leading the Senate race based on the initial and official canvassing results released by the NBOC on Wednesday morning.

These were from the COCs in the provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Baguio City, and Malabon, which were canvassed starting Tuesday night.

Comelec Commissioner Marlon Casquejo on Tuesday said that the poll body expects to proclaim winning senators and party-list groups this week.

The votes canvassed by the NBOC are considered as the partial and official results of this year’s elections.

The NBOC suspended its session on Wednesday night. It will resume canvassing of votes on Thursday at 3 p.m. — BM, GMA News
