DOH to hold free routine, catch-up immunization from May 26-27, 2022
The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday said it will hold free routine and catch-up immunization for infants from Thursday, May 26 to Friday, May 27.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the Chikiting Bakunation Days will be held nationwide.
“Bagamat wala pang bakuna kontra COVID para sa ating mga chikiting, kinakailangan rin po natin silang maprotektahan laban sa ibang mga sakit,” Vergeire said at the Laging Handa briefing.
(Even though there are no COVID vaccines for our infants yet, we need to protect them against other diseases.)
“Kaya naman hatid po ng Kagawaran ng Kalusugan ang libreng routine and catch-up immunization para sa ating mga infants na nakaliban ng kanilang bakuna noong nakaraang taon,” she added.
(That’s why the Department of Health is offering free routine and catch-up immunization for infants who missed their vaccine schedules last year.
Vergeire urged parents, grandparents, and legal guardians to coordinate with the nearest health centers. — Joahna Lei Casilao/RSJ, GMA News
