Robredo camp ready to meet Sara Duterte's team for transition

The office of Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday said her team would be meeting with that of Vice President-elect Sara Duterte to ensure smooth transition of power.

"We respectfully acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 27 May 2022 requesting an initial meeting between our respective teams," Robredo said in a letter to Duterte, President Rodrigo Duterte's daughter and the outgoing mayor of Davao City.

"Please be advised that we are ready to meet to answer any questions you may have regarding the Office of the Vice President and to take all necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition.

Robredo tasked her chief of staff, Undersecretary Philip Dy, to get in touch directly with Sara Duterte's team to set the transition.

Sara Duterte's camp earlier said that they reached out to Robredo camp for a virtual meeting for transition matters.

Robredo wished her successor well. "Warmest congratulations on your proclamation as the 15th Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines," she said.
