P5.1 million worth of shabu seized in Pasay City Central Mail Exchange Center

Authorities seized a parcel containing suspected shabu, estimated to be worth P5.1 million, in a controlled delivery operation at the Central Mail Exchange Center, Domestic Road in Pasay City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday.

Two sales agents allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade were arrested in the joint operation led by the Aviation Security Unit-NCR and intelligence operatives of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group.

The two suspects were identified as 43-year-old Bryan Pagayan and 64-year-old Ferdinand Jimenez.

PNP officer-in-charge Police Lieutenant General Vicente Danao Jr. said that the operation was the result of aggressive intelligence gathering and collaborative efforts among different agencies.

“It can be noted that an Alternative Recording Device was properly used during the said operation adhering to the Rules on Body-Worn Camera by the Supreme Court,” he added.

The suspects and evidence were now under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for documentation and proper disposition. — DVM, GMA News
