Comelec retains John Rex Laudiangco as spokesperson

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will retain Law Department Director John Rex Laudiangco as its spokesperson.

This was stated in a memorandum signed by Acting Comelec chairperson Socorro Inting dated June 10 but was only released on Monday, June 13.

Laudiangco served as the poll body's spokesperson during the short-lived tenure of former Comelec chief Saidamen Pangarungan.

Pangarungan was appointed to his post by President Rodrigo Duterte last March 9, but his appointment and that of four others were bypassed by the bicameral Commission on Appointments last month. 

Inting then became the acting poll chairperson being the most senior among sitting Comelec commissioners.
