Mass for late PNoy also prays for Kris' wellness

The recovery of celebrity Kris Aquino was prayed for during the Mass held to commemorate the first death anniversary of her brother, former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, on Friday.

The prayer for Kris' wellness was read by her nephew, Miguel Aquino-Abellada, during the Prayers of the Faithful part of the Mass.

"For those sick and burdened, who are bereaved or in any distress, especially Kristina Bernadette, that they may be among the meek and humble of heart whom God comforts by revealing the secrets of his love," he said, referring to his aunt's full name.

The attendees -- among them Vice President Leni Robredo, the other Aquino siblings, members of the Liberal Party -- responded with "Fill us with your love, Lord."

Kris Aquino has been diagnosed with Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA), formerly known as Churg-Strauss Syndrome, and is undergoing treatments.

The youngest among the Aquino siblings, Kris earlier said her EGPA explained her adult-onset asthma, weight loss, gastrointestinal intolerances, and fluctuating blood pressure, which prevented her from traveling.

Kris revealed she was suffering from a life-threatening illness in May.
