Robredo to mark Angat Buhay NGO launch with two-day street and art festival
Vice President Leni Robredo said Tuesday she will mark her first two days after stepping down from office by launching the anti-poverty Angat Buhay nongovernment organization on July 1 and 2 with a street and art festival featuring the mementos given by her supporters during the 2022 presidential campaign.
"We are officially launching the Angat Buhay program at our Volunteer Center on July 1, 2022. To celebrate, there will also be a two-day street and art festival, where some of the pink memorabilia and artworks we received during the campaign will be featured," Robredo said in a statement.
Robredo also posted a link where those who want to physically attend the event amid the COVID-19 pandemic can sign up.
The attendance slots, however, were filled out in two hours since her posting.
Robredo, however, said the event will be livestreamed for those who cannot be there in person.
"For those who will not be able to join us, we will be setting up a live streaming link so that everyone can be part of this exciting new adventure for Angat Buhay," she added.
Robredo also released the list of official social media pages of Angat Buhay which include the following:
- Facebook: https://facebook.com/angatbuhaypilipinas
- Twitter: https://twitter.com/angatbuhay_ph
- Instagram: https://instagram.com/angatbuhay
Robredo earlier said that she will ask the artists' permission to sell the memorabilia given to her during the campaign to raise funds for Angat Buhay NGO which will aid communities in need.
On Monday, Robredo told reporters that her office was already able to sort out which ones will be sold for the Angat Buhay fund raising initiative.
"We catalogued these paintings to classify which ones will go to Angat Buhay museum and which ones will be sold to raise funding for the Angat Buhay NGO so all of them could be of good use," Robredo said.
Robredo's 2022 presidential campaign ran largely on volunteers as most local officials backed former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
