DOJ appoints Rogelio Gevero Jr. as BI OIC

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has appointed Immigration Regulation Division chief Rogelio Gevero Jr. as officer-in-charge of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

“As such, Mr. Gevero is hereby authorized to discharge the powers and mandates of said position, in addition to his existing duties and responsibilities,” Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla said in a department order dated July 4.

The order said Gevero is expected to perform his duties and responsibilities until July 31 or until a replacement has been designated, whichever comes first. 

The appointment came after Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente ended his term on June 30. —VBL, GMA News
