Marcos appoints Danilo Cruz as TESDA chief, Bong Coo as PSC commissioner

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has appointed Danilo Cruz as director general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Malacañang said Wednesday.

In a statement, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles also said Olivia Garcia "Bong" Coo has also been designated as commissioner of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

Cruz served as undersecretary of the Department of Labor and Employment under the Arroyo administration.

Meanwhile, Coo, a bowling legend, has brought the country with pride after bagging a number of medals in various tournaments including five golds, two silvers, and three bronzes in the Asian Games as well as eight gold medals in the Southeast Asian Games.

The PSC will name one chairman and three commissioners following Coo's appointment. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK/RSJ, GMA News
