Almost all universities, colleges ready to conduct full face-to-face classes — CHED
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on Tuesday said almost all universities and colleges have expressed readiness to implement full face-to-face classes this academic year.
At a public briefing, CHED chairperson Prospero de Vera III said only schools that are already offering distance learning before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country will use this mode.
“Halos lahat (ay magface-to-face classes na), kasi ang definition namin sa CHED ng residential (course) ay puwede kang magdagdag ng components na gagawin ng mga estudyante outside the classroom up to 25% noong laman ng syllabus," he said.
(Almost all schools are ready to conduct face-to-face classes, because our definition in CHED of residential course is you can add components that the students will do outside classrooms up to 25% of the syllabus.)
“May mga schools na meron silang component ng kanilang syllabus na ibibigay pa rin online but basically face-to-face ang mode of instruction,” he added.
(Some components in the syllabus of some schools will be given online but basically the mode of instruction is face-to-face.)
According to De Vera, many schools are conducting face-to-face activities like graduation ceremonies and sports events.
Earlier, De Vera said CHED cannot require colleges and universities to impose full implementation of face-to-face classes considering that schools have different programs and curriculum.—AOL, GMA News
