Florita leaves over P33-M damage to infrastructure — NDRRMC
The damage to infrastructure due to Severe Tropical Storm Florita has been estimated to be over P33 million, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday.
Based on its 8 a.m. situational report, the NDRRMC said a total of 31 damaged infrastructures were recorded with an estimated cost of P33,700,000. Of the total number, 24 were the Ilocos Region and seven in Cagayan Valley.
The agency said a total of 33 houses were damaged in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
At least 17,510 families or 71,468 individuals were affected during the heavy rains and flash floods brought by Florita, the NDRRMC said.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,031 individuals from the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) were preemptively evacuated.
The NDRRMC also reported at least three people were killed while four others were injured.
One fatality and three injured were reported in Cagayan Valley, while one fatality and one injured were also reported in Bicol region.
At least one fatality was also reported in CAR, according to the NDRRMC.
A total of 15 ports have suspended trips, of which 10 ports resumed operations in Calabarzon and the Bicol Region.
The agency added that at least 32 roads and 11 bridges are now passable, which were previously reported as not passable or one lane passable. — Richa Noriega/RSJ, GMA News
