Lagdameo listed as top contributor in Marcos' SOCE


President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared receiving over P624 million in campaign contributions in his successful bid for the presidency.

His Statement of Contributions and Expenditure (SOCE) submitted to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) showed Marcos received P624,684,320.09 in cash and in kind.

Anton Lagdameo, who has since been appointed Special Assistant to President, has been listed as the Chief Executive's top contributor in the Eleksyon 2022 campaign.

The document showed Lagdameo contributed P247,234,320.09 "in-kind from party."

Lagdameo is the treasurer of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, under which Marcos ran for president.

Melquiades Robles is the second biggest contributor to Marcos' campaign, having given P30 million in cash, according to the President's SOCE.

Robles was appointed general manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office in July.

The third top contributor is Philip Lo, who gave P25 million in cash to the Marcos campaign.

Outside the top three contributors, six individuals each contributed P20 million in cash, and 11 others each donated P10 million.

There were 67 who have been declared as contributors to Marcos' campaign.

Marcos' running-mate, Vice President Sara Duterte, declared receiving a total of P216,190,935.06 in campaign contributions.

Her top contributor is her party Lakas-CMD, which gave a total of over P139 million in kind, followed by the top individual contributor Harry Roque, who contributed P3,641,0343.72 in advertisement payments.

Davao-based ESDEVCO Realty Corp. contributed P19,923,904 million worth of advertisements, while Senator Sherwin Gatchalian donated a total of P12.8 million in ad payments.

The Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino contributed a total of P7.5 million in ad payments to Duterte's campaign as did the Duterte Youth with P361,401.

Robredo

Former Vice President Leni Robredo, meanwhile, received P388 million in donations for her campaign, with former Senator Serge Osmeña III being the biggest contributor with P20 million, based on her SOCE.

Ranking second among Robredo's contributors is Vibenditho Piñga with P15 million. Her third biggest contributors, who pitched in P10 million each, were Phinma Corp. President Ramon del Rosario, Pilar Yu, Geraldine Garcia and Mark Bernal.

Twenty-one people also contributed P5 million each to Robredo's campaign kitty, while two contributed P4 million each.

The rest of Robredo's 304 contributors shelled out less than P4 million, ranging from P25,000 to P3 million. The erstwhile vice president placed second in the 2022 presidential race.

De Guzman, Bello

Former presidential bet and labor leader Leody de Guzman declared that he received a P1 million cash contribution from a political party, based on his SOCE.

He ran under Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM).

His running mate, Professor Walden Bello, on the hand received a total of P2,860,000 in cash contributions.

Of this amount, more than P1.8 million was addressed to Bello himself.

Both entrepreneur Wilson Lee Flores and Esperanza Santos also pitched P500,000 each for Bello’s campaign.

Isko Moreno

Former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno received campaign donations amounting to P206,500,000 for his presidential bid.

His largest contributor is Andrea Chua who gave P50 million, followed by Berenguer Allan with P20 million.

Francis Enrico Gutierrez, who was previously one of the biggest campaign contributors of Mar Roxas, businessman Winley de la Fuente, who was the head of the Duterte Pa Rin movement, Diaca Group president Baiverth Diabo, Arnold Labanan, and Adelbert Ramas each donated P10 million.

Moreno ranked fourth among presidential candidates with 1.9 million votes.

Lacson

For his second presidential run, former Senator Panfilo Lacson received a total of P160,538,500 contributions.

Of the said amount, Lacson spent P160,302,316.61, leaving an excess amount of P236,183.39.

According to his SOCE, Lacson's top contributor was Crisinciano Mahilac with P65.490 million —P45 million of which was donated in cash.

A quick web search would show that Mahilac is a former mayor of Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental.

Following Mahilac are Benjamin Go who contributed P10 million in cash and Angelica Desiderio who donated P10 million in kind.

They were followed by Pablo Mercado with P8.487 million, Jessa Mae Magdadaro with P6.540 million, and John Gaisano Jr. with P5.050 million.

Among the known personalities who also contributed to Lacson's campaign are former BIR Commissioner Kim Jacinto Henares, who also served as one of his campaign managers, with P2 million, and former policeman and incumbent Antipolo 2nd District Rep. Romeo Acop with P2.170 million.

Lacson settled at fifth place in the 2022 presidential race, garnering 882,236 votes.
