Baguio placed on red alert due to Typhoon Henry

In preparation for the possible effects of Typhoon Henry, all Baguio City government agencies were placed on red alert status from September 2-Friday until September 5-Monday.

According to Claire Lacanilao’s report on “24 Oras,” these Baguio City agencies would be the quick-response team in case pre-emptive evacuations become necessary.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council member agencies were also ready to respond to emergencies.

The local government was also monitoring areas prone to landslides and flooding.

“Isa doon ang disaster resiliency so napaka-proactive dito sa siyudad ng Baguio. Lahat po ng mga concerned agencies mandated to be on their toes, palaging naka-standby,” said Baguio City Information Officer IV, Gaby Keith.

(One of them is disaster resiliency, so we are very proactive here in Baguio Rity. All the concerned agencies are mandated to be on their toes, always on standby.)

Meanwhile, classes were suspended at all levels in the city due to Typhoon Henry.

Meanwhile, city authorities said that the Marcos Highway and Naguilian Road would remain open to motorists. — Sherylin Untalan/DVM, GMA News
