2,812 new COVID-19 cases recorded; active tally at 23,571
The Philippines on Saturday recorded 2,812 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the country’s caseload to 3,889,160, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
Active cases, however, dropped slightly to 23,571 from 23,703 on Friday.
The top regions with the most cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 9,900, followed by Calabarzon with 4,774, Central Luzon with 3,227, Western Visayas with 1,636, and Davao Region with 1,482.
The recovery tally climbed to 3,803,627, while the death toll now stands at 61,962.
As of Friday, the nationwide bed occupancy rate was 27.4%, with 7,935 beds occupied, while 21,013 were vacant.
The DOH said 18,930 individuals were tested on Friday, while 324 testing laboratories submitted data. —VBL, GMA News
