One individual reportedly died in the Ilocos Region due to Typhoon Henry, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Sunday.
Based on the NDRRMC’s 8 a.m. situational report, the reported fatality was still subject for validation.
Earlier reports indicate there were no reported injuries or missing individuals even after Henry had exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) early Sunday morning.
However, the typhoon displaced 110 families or 321 people in four barangays in the Ilocos Region.
With this, a total of 60 displaced families or 149 individuals were transferred in one evacuation center in the region, while 11 displaced families or 30 individuals were also staying outside of evacuation centers.
At least, eight roads and one bridge in the Ilocos region and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) were also impassable in Henry's wake.
Meanwhile, 27 classes and nine work schedules were suspended in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and CAR because of the typhoon.
NDRRMC noted that at least P19,000 worth of assistance was already provided in the Ilocos Region. —LBG, GMA News
