2,275 new COVID-19 infections logged, active tally at 26,271
The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday logged 2,275 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the nationwide caseload to 3,918,329.
This was a decrease from Friday’s 2,619 infections and marked the third straight day of fewer than 3,000 newly reported cases.
Active infections went down to 26,271 from 26,363 on Friday.
The National Capital Region recorded the highest number of cases in the past two weeks with 10,073, followed by Calabarzon with 3,666, Central Luzon with 2,185, Davao Region with 1,189, and Western Visayas with 957.
The country’s recovery tally climbed to 3,829,544, while the death toll increased to 62,514.
As of Friday, the country’s bed occupancy rate was 27.2%, with 7,801 beds occupied and 20,837 vacant.
The DOH said 18,300 individuals were tested on Friday, while 331 testing laboratories submitted data. — VBL, GMA News
