DSWD: Over P1 billion in educational aid distributed as of September 17, 2022

On the second to the last Saturday of educational assistance distribution, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said it provided indigent learners with over P1 billion.

A total of P1,033,610,800 in education assistance was distributed in the country from August 20 to September 17, 2022, according to a Super Radyo dzBB report.

An estimated 414,482 students benefited from the program including 136,349 college students, 58,502 senior high school, 92,856 junior high school, and 126,775 elementary students.

Last September 10, the DSWD announced that they had closed the online application for its educational assistance program for indigent students due to the high volume of applications against limited available funds. — DVM, GMA News
