DOH posts 1,886 new COVID-19 cases, active tally at 27,284
The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday registered 1,886 new COVID-19 infections, adding the nationwide caseload to 3,927,120.
This was the second day straight of fewer than 2,000 daily reported COVID-19 cases.
The new cases brought the active tally to 27,284, a slight increase from 27,257 on Tuesday.
In the recent two weeks, the National Capital Region (NCR) recorded the highest cases with 11,989, followed by Calabarzon with 4,264, Central Luzon with 2,436, Davao Region with 1,293, and Western Visayas with 935.
The country’s recovery tally also climbed to 3,837,179, with 1,730 new recoveries reported.
Meanwhile, at least 37 new fatalities were recorded bringing the death toll to 62,657.
The DOH said a total of 7,905 beds were occupied, while 20,528 were vacant as the bed occupancy in the country stood at 27.8% as of Monday, September 19.
It added that at least 19,138 individuals were tested, while 339 testing labs submitted data as of Tuesday, September 20. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA News
