All seaports except for Matnog back to normal operations after Karding –PCG

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Tuesday said all ports affected by Typhoon Karding were now back to their normal operations except for the Matnog Seaport in Sorsogon.

“Maliban po sa Matnog, na may kaunting nakapila pa, lahat po ay normal na ang operasyon,” PCG spokesperson Armand Balilo said at a public briefing.

(Except for Matnog, which has a short queue of passengers, all seaports are operating normally.)

Balilo said there was no reported damage to seacraft, nor was there any report of a maritime incident due to Karding.

While seaports were now back to normal, Balilo reminded those who were using small boats to keep monitoring updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA about the sea conditions.

According To the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), three peope were missing in Mercedes, Camarines Norte due to the typhoon.

The reported death toll due to Karding was now at eight, the NDRRMC said.

Of the eight reported fatalities, five were rescuers who drowned in San Miguel, Bulacan. Two fatalities were reported from Zambales and one was reported from Quezon. — DVM, GMA News
