Raffy Tulfo seeks modernization of V. Luna Hospital
Senator Raffy Tulfo on Tuesday called for the modernization of V. Luna General Hospital for better treatment of soldiers.
“Gusto ko nga po ma-modernize talaga ’yung V. Luna, bumili tayo ng mga equipment para naman mapaayos po ‘yung medical care treatment sa ating mga kasundaluhan,” Tulfo said during a Senate hearing.
[I want the modernization of the V. Luna. Let’s buy equipment so we can improve the medical care treatment of our soldiers.]
“Kasi they almost gave their life sa pagsilbi sa bayan. Tapos pagdating sa V. Luna hindi maganda ‘yung serbisyo, hindi maganda ‘yung equipment. Kawawa naman sila,” he added.
[They almost gave their life for the country. And then when they come to V. Luna, the service isn’t good, the equipment isn’t good. It's pitiful.]
Tulfo made the remark during the hearing of the Senate committee on finance on the budget of the Department of National Defense.
Meanwhile, the senator also called for an increase in the subsistence allowance of soldiers. He said the allowance is only P150 per day.
“Siguro dagdagan natin. Taastaasan naman natin kasi totoo po ‘yan, kaawa-awa… Kulang po ‘yun. Magkano ang mabibili ng P150? In fact, P150 wala pa siguro ‘yan, hindi pa tayo makapagbili ng magandang hamburger niyan,” Tulfo said.
[Maybe we can increase it. What they're getting is not enough. What can you buy with P150? In fact, you may not be able to buy a good burger with that.]
