1,000 families from Karding-hit Aurora province get help from GMA Kapuso Foundation
A thousand families from Super Typhoon Karding-affected Barangay Umiray in Dingalan, Aurora received help from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to a “24 Oras” report Tuesday, among the beneficiaries was Zenaida Callumat who is still getting back on her feet from Typhoon Ulysses in 2020.
Zenaida’s home, made of galvanized iron sheets, was crushed by trees around their area.
“Nakikita ko yung mga bata, wala po talagang matulugan sila. Naaawa po ako kasi syempre po, ang nararanasan ko, nararanasan din po ng mga ka-baryo ko,” she said.
(I see the kids who have nowhere to sleep. I feel bad for them because of course, others are also going through what I'm experiencing.)
“Napakahirap kasi una, iisipin mo paano yung kinabukasan, paano yung bukas. Lahat po ng gamit ay basa, ‘di namin alam saan kami kukuha ng kakainin namin,” she added.
("It's very hard because first, we have to think about the future, the day after. All our things are wet, we don't know where we'll get food.")
Zenaida and other residents were given relief goods and vitamins under the foundation’s “Operation Bayanihan” project. The Dingalan Rural Health Unit was also given medicine.
On Monday, the GMA Kapuso Foundation also gave out immediate help to other provinces including Quezon, Bulacan, and Metro Manila.
The GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
