Online oathtaking for new nurses to be held on October 26

The Professional Regulation Commissions (PRC) said that passers of the Nurses Licensure Examination will have their virtual oathtaking on October 26, 2022.

The PRC said in an advisory that the 2 p.m. online oathtaking would be spearheaded by PRC-Iloilo through Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

The commission instructed inductees to wear their gala uniform and cap and use a white backdrop throughout the oathtaking ceremony.

Online appointment schedules must be secured at http://online.prc.gov.ph and select “e-OATH” as transaction.

The online registration will close five calendar days before the virtual oathtaking day, the PRC said.

Inductees are also required to print an “oath of professional” form that is downloadable from the PRC official website under PRC Online Services.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier agreed that the benefits accorded to nurses are not enough considering their services and sacrifices to ensure the health of the public.

Several Filipino healthcare workers, meanwhile, appealed for higher pay amid the country’s shortage of more than 100,000 nurses.

In July, the Commission on Higher Education announced, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the lifting of the moratorium on opening new nursing undergraduate programs. — DVM, GMA News
