PRC announces passers of October 2022 chemist, chemical technician licensure exams


Graduates of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños were among the highest scorers in the chemist licensure examination and the chemical technician licensure examination held this month, the Professional Regulation Commission said.

According to the PRC, 284 out of 731 test takers passed the chemist licensure examination, with Carmel Rose Malones Rolloque of UPLB scoring 91.30% to lead the pack.

Meanwhile, 2,204 out of 2,588 test takers passed the chemical technician licensure exam, with Carlos Antonio Nicdao Concepcion of UPLB, Christian Rey Salinio Dela Cruz of the Technological University of the Philippines, and Jopette Marie Binasahan Villas of the Eastern Visayas State University Tacloban all tying for first place with scores of 94%.

Among schools with 50 or more examinees, UPLB was the best performer in the chemist licensure examination with 42 of its 51 test takers passing, for a passing rate of 82.35%.

For the chemical technician licensure examination, the best-performing school with 50 or more examinees was the Technological University of the Philippines Visayas, with all 65 of its test takers succeeding.

Both examinations were administered by the Board of Chemistry in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Tacloban and Zamboanga.

In the alphabetical list the Ñ is ordered after the Z, so a test taker with the surname Cañete, for instance, comes after a test taker with the surname Cayetano. — BM, GMA News
