1,391 new COVID-19 cases push active tally to 21,176


The Philippines on Saturday reported 1,391 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally went down to 21,176.

According to the Department of Health, the country’s total caseload is currently at 4,002,080 as active cases dropped from 21,685 on Friday.

In the last two weeks, the National Capital Region registered the highest number of new cases with 5,720  followed by Calabarzon with 3,368, Central Luzon with 1,954, Western Visayas with 1,716, and Davao Region with 1,188.

The recovery tally climbed to 3,916,909 with 1,770 new recoveries.

Thirty-six new deaths were reported, increasing the death toll to 63,995.

As of Friday, the national bed occupancy rate was 24.6%, with 7,025 occupied and 21,578 vacant beds.

A total of 12,639 individuals were tested on Friday, while 333 testing laboratories submitted data. — VBL, GMA News
