DSWD accepting donations for Paeng victims

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) opened its office to receive donations for the victims of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

The DSWD said it is accepting cash and in-kind donations.

“Sa mga nais magbahagi ng tulong sa mga nasalanta at naapektuhan ng Bagyong Paeng, bukas po ang buong opisina ng Kagawaran ng Kagalingan at Pagpapaunlad Panlipunan sa buong bansa para tumanggap ng mga donasyon,” the department said in a Facebook post on Monday.

(For those who want to help Typhoon Paeng victims, all offices of the DSWD nationwide are open to receive donations.)

The department said among the needed items are food, clothes, sleeping kits, hygiene kits, tents or tarpaulins, and cash.

Donors may drop off the in-kind donations in the nearest DSWD Field Office or National Resource Operations Center (NROC) Brgy. 195 NAIA, Chapel Road, Pasay City, Metro Manila.

The DSWD said they may also message or call Jose Mari Madera of the DSWD Finance and Management Service - Cash Divisions at  0927-254-7399.

As of Tuesday morning, a total of 160 cities and municipalities were under state of calamity due to the effects of Paeng, which exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday afternoon.
