SC: 9,207 candidates completed first day of 2022 Bar exams
A total of 9,207 candidates out of the 10,006 applicants completed the first day of the 2022 Bar examinations on Wednesday, according to the Supreme Court.
This is equivalent to a 92.01% turnout with a total of 799 examinees absent.
Supreme Court Associate Justice and Bar Examinations Committee chairperson Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, the first day of the exams went “smoothly.”
The Court said Caguioa monitored the exams from the Command Center in the National Capital Region. He also visited nearby testing sites.
“According to Justice Caguioa, the first day of the 2022 Bar Examinations went well and smoothly. He is very pleased and hopes for the same results in the remaining Bar Exam days,” the high court said in a statement.
According to the Court, the local testing center in Ateneo de Manila University held the largest number of examinees at 2,233.
This was followed by Saint Louis University in Luzon with 947 examinees and De La Salle University with 762 examinees.
Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, Justice Ramon Hernando, Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier, Justice Rodil Zalameda, Justice Jose Midas Marquez, justice Maria Filomena Singh, Associate Justice Antonio Kho, and Justice Japar Dimaampao also visited the testing sites.
Exams
Meanwhile, the high court said the morning exam on the first day was on Political Law and International Law (with related Tax Principles) while the afternoon exam was on Labor Law.
For the second day of the Bar exams on November 13 (Sunday), the morning exams will be on Criminal Law while the afternoon exam will be on Commercial Law.
The Court said the third day of the exams on November 16 (Wednesday) will cover Civil Law I in the morning and Civil Law II in the afternoon.
On November 20 (Sunday), the fourth day of the exams, it will be Remedial Law I and Remedial Law II (with basic Tax Remedies) and Legal Ethics.
The Supreme Court had said that examinees who will be unable to take the Bar exams due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng may apply for a refund of their fees. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
