1,232 new COVID-19 cases bring active tally to 17,675
The Philippines monitored 1,232 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the active tally to 17,675.
In its report, the Department of Health said the total number of cases since the coronavirus pandemic began in March 2020 has risen to 4,016,401, including 3,934,344 recoveries and 64,382 deaths.
The National Capital Region had the highest number of new infections in the past two weeks with 2,831 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 1,598; Western Visayas with 1,325; Central Luzon with 975; and Central Visayas with 862.
As of Friday, the bed occupancy rate in the country was 24.4%, with 6,940 occupied and 21,526 vacant beds.
A total of 12,722 individuals were tested for the coronavirus on Friday, based on reports from 337 testing laboratories. — with Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
