Palace issues memo reverting management of socio-civic project funds to Executive Secretary
Malacañang has issued a directive reverting the administration and management of the socio-civic projects fund to the Office of the Executive Secretary.
Signed on November 16, 2022, Memorandum Order No. 11 states that the Office of the Executive Secretary may, among others, enter into agreements, and disburse funds from the SCPF, in accordance with relevant laws, rules and regulations.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed the memorandum order.
"Taking into account Section 6 of Executive Order No. 1 (s. 2022) which provides that the Office of the Special Assistant to the President and the Presidential Management Staff shall provide support and assistance to the Executive Secretary in the overall management of the development process, the administration and management of the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) established in accordance with Section 7(a) of Presidential Decree No. 1869 (s.1983), is hereby reverted to the Office of the Executive Secretary."
It said all relevant orders, rules, and regulations are amended accordingly following the issuance of the said memorandum order.
Before, proposals and audit projects under the SCPF (previously known as the President's Social Fund) were evaluated by the Presidential Management Staff's Office for Special Projects. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
