Sabungeros' kin rues slow case: Why was Lapid slay solved fast?

The families of missing sabungeros again expressed dismay over the lack of development in the investigation by the authorities of the disappearance of their loved ones.

According to Emil Sumangil's report on "24 Oras", a mother of one of the victims pointed out that the killing of broadcaster Percy Lapid had already been solved while they continue to wait for justice.

Maricel Mendoza, the partner of missing sabungero Eric Legaspi, went home from Saudi Arabia to find her missing partner and father of her five children.

“Kung sino man po ang nakakaalam kung nasaan yung asawa ko please lang po pakisoli po,” Mendoza said.

Meanwhile, the family of a missing sabungero in Tanay, Rizal who was allegedly taken from the Manila Arena in January 2022 also expressed concern over the slow progress in the resolution of the case.

“Yung case mismo yung finding them wala pa akong balita, I will ask the NBI and police to brief me on this matter in the soonest possible time. Syempre masakit yan  kasi disapperances ng tao yan and the families are really wanted to know what happened to them,” DOJ secretary Boying Remulla said.

“We need breaks to get leads para we can actually properly eh nagkataon lang that there are some cases that are faster to solve because of the availability of the evidence. Huwag sila mag-alalala, hindi kami titigil. We will continue working on all of these cases,” he added.

Office of the Press Secretary officer in charge Cheloy Garafil said Remulla would meet with the families of the missing sabungeros in the coming days. —NB, GMA Integrated News
