OVP: P156M worth of aid under medical assistance program distributed so far
More than P156 million worth of aid has been distributed by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to 15,000 beneficiaries under its medical assistance program so far.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the OVP said that as of December 9, its Public Assistance Division has facilitated at least 15,456 beneficiaries with aid amounting to P156,872,895.77 since Vice President Sara Duterte assumed her post on June 30 this year.
The OVP instituted a medical and burial assistance program to provide social services to indigent Filipinos.
Under its medical assistance program, the OVP said it added 50 more partner hospitals and dialysis centers to its list of service providers to reach out to more beneficiaries.
It now has a total of 84 partners composed of public and private medical institutions nationwide.
Aside from the OVP Central Office in Mandaluyong, in-patient and out-patient beneficiaries may avail medical assistance through the seven OVP satellite offices across the country, particularly in Bacolod, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao City, Surigao, Tacloban, and Zamboanga.
According to the OVP, the free public assistance application forms are available in its central and satellite offices, and could only be used by the clients requesting for such services. — Giselle Ombay/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
