Sara thanks DepEd staff members in Christmas message for love of Pinoy youth
In a Christmas Day message, Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte lauded the personnel of the Department of Education (DepEd) for their work dedication and for taking care of the Filipino youth.
In a video message posted Sunday, Duterte extended her Christmas greetings to her DepEd family all over the country, and wished them a prosperous New Year ahead.
She also emphasized DepEd’s role in nation-building and for forming and preparing the youth for their dreams.
(Thank you very much for your dedication to your work and love of Filipino children. Despite the adversities we faced due to the pandemic and other disasters, you did not turn your back on the call of public service.)
(You continued to guide and cultivate our young people's minds so that they can reach their dreams in life.)
In another video message posted December 16, Duterte greeted the nation a merry Christmas and expressed hope that Filipinos will have a meaningful celebration of the yuletide season despite the difficulties in life.
“Magkakaiba man ang ating prinsipyo, paniniwala, at pamumuhay, pinagkakaisa naman tayo ng pananampalataya, mithiin, at pangarap, at pagmamahal sa isa’t isa,” she said.
(Although our principles, beliefs, and lifestyles are different, we are united by faith, ideals, dreams, and love for one another.)
(I hope that our Christmas celebration will be meaningful despite the adversities in our lives. May we continue to be strong for ourselves, our families, and for our country.)
VP Duterte on Sunday celebrated Christmas by distributing grocery packs, gift certificates, and meals to the public at the ancestral house of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte along Taal Road in Central Park Subdivision in Davao City.
In her message, she pointed out the three virtues of Christmas for people to live a peaceful life: love, forgiveness, and sharing. —LBG, GMA Integrated News
