120,000 passengers a day passed through NAIA from Dec. 1 to 28

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said at least 65,000 passengers departed and arrived in NAIA on Wednesday ahead of the New Year’s Eve celebration.

According to Saleema Refran's report on "24 Oras", 120,000 passengers have been recorded per day at the NAIA from December 1 to 28.

“We expect to increase... Especially after New Year, as more passengers go outside Manila going back to where they came from,” Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) senior assistant general manager Bryan Co said.

The BI advised passengers to complete the e-travel pass before traveling to the Philippines for faster immigration screening.

“Ito po ay pinagsama yung arrival cards ng BI at One Health Pass ng ating Bureau of Quarantine. Pupunta po tayo sa etravel.gov.ph na kung saan ifi-fill out na roon 72 hours prior sa arrival natin sa ating bansa,” BI deputy spokesperson Melvin Mabulac said.

(This is a combination of the arrival cards of BI and One Health Pass of the Bureau of Quarantine. We  will visit etravel.gov.ph where we must fill out the information at least 72 hours before our arrival in our country.)

Philippine passport holders may enter a self-service e-gate for easier exit into the airport.

“Ngayon, magkakasama kami kahit konting panahon lang. Pero at least enjoyin, cherish namin yung moment namin ngayon,” passenger Marson Alegado said.

(We will be together at least for a little while. For now, we enjoy and cherish our moments together.)

“Finally, nandito na sila so makakapagcelebrate kami ng New Year. Indeed a Happy New Year talaga,” Jennifer Alegado, wife of Marson, said.

“Super happy, kasi first time namin makasama yung family ko. Dahil susurprise namin yung nanay namin hindi po niya alam na uuwi kami,” Jenny Rioflorido, another passenger, said.
