Philippines posts 467 new COVID-19 cases
The Philippines reported 467 additional cases of COVID-19 on Sunday to bring the country’s active caseload to 12,376, data released by the Department of Health (DOH) showed.
The new cases brought the total caseload to 4,067,678, including 3,989,826 recoveries, and 65,476 deaths.
The National Capital Region (NCR) reported the most number of cases in the past two weeks with 2,311, followed by Calabrzon with 1,118, Central Luzon with 540, Western Visayas with 337, and the Cagayan Valley with 317.
In terms of provinces and cities, Quezon City had the most cases with 543, Cavite with 318, Rizal with 305, Manila City with 298, and Laguna with 248.
The same data showed that there were 9,948 samples and 9,588 individuals tested on Saturday, January 7, bringing the cumulative positivity rate to 13.7%.
The country’s bed occupancy rate stood at 20.4%, with 5,565 of the 27,258 beds occupied.
The latest data available from the DOH showed 165.904 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered as of January 3 — 70.951 million first doses, 73.780 million with complete doses, and 21.172 million with booster doses. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
