Marcos: Tulfo did a good job as DSWD chief, we can't lose that asset

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday said he was hoping former Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo will still be a part of his administration.

In an interview with television news anchors, Marcos was asked if Tulfo was being considered for a presidential adviser's post.

"No, we have other plans for him, not as a presidential adviser," Marcos said.

Asked if Tulfo would still serve under his administration.

"I hope so... The time that he was running the DSWD, he did a very good job so we can't lose that kind of asset," Marcos said.

"We'll find something that he can do so we could take advantage of his good instincts when it comes to social service," he added.

The Commission on Appointments in November deferred Tulfo's confirmation as secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

In late December, DSWD Undersecretary Edu Punay was named the department's officer in charge. —NB, GMA Integrated News
