Senior AFP officers take on new duties
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced new positions for some of its senior officers on Tuesday.
A joint change of chief of office ceremony was held at Camp Aguinaldo on Monday, which was presided over by AFP Deputy Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Anthony Reyes.
Major General Alex Rillera left his post as the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) for Operations, J3, to his assistant, Brigadier General Glenn Jun Calambuhay, who will serve in an acting capacity.
Rillera will be the new commander of the 6th Infantry Division.
Brigadier General Noel Beleran is now the new DCS for Education, Training, and Doctrine, J8, replacing Brigadier General Fernando Reyeg.
Brigadier General Proceso Rebancos assumed his post as the new AFP Chief Engineer from Colonel Celso Resurrecion Jr., who will now serve as his deputy.
Colonel Erwin Victoriano Machica II now leads the AFP Office of The Judge Advocate General, which was previously headed by Colonel Julius Agdeppa in an acting capacity.
Colonel Ma Dolores Lim assumed her post as AFP Chief Nurse and replaced Colonel Marilyn Tolentino, who was appointed deputy chief in an acting capacity.
Colonel Geoffrey Carandang was assigned as the new Secretary of the Joint Staff AFP, replacing Colonel Wilfredo Manalang III.
According to the AFP, the changes are part of the organization’s commitment to advance professionalism and meritocracy in the military. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
